Weeping Willow
Weeping Willow
Acrylic on canvas 61 cm x 51 cm February 2019
This is a willow tree at my grandparent’s house in England. In this piece I was exploring a more abstract way of painting, especially in the tree, layering wavy brushstrokes of varying colors to allude to the droopy nature of the willow tree. The gray sky and dark grass create a depressing background that matches the aura of the tree. It was painted after both of my grandparents had passed away and we were clearing their house to be sold: this was the last memory I had about the house.
