Brother and Sister

This series was inspired by two photos of myself and my sister that my father took of us as young children, and it explores the relationship of my father to the subjects as well as the subjects to the viewer. I aimed to show the raw emotion that was present in the original photos, but translate it in a different way onto the canvas. The monochromatic palette serves to isolate the facial features, as well as the painterly brush-stroke.
