Bochum, Germany, September 7, 1929
As September arrived, the grueling European tour began to take its toll on the American athletes. Even Eddie Tolan was feeling the fatigue.
On Bochum’s fast track, he was defeated by Germany’s Georg Lammers, with both clocking 10.4. Arthur Jonath, another home favourite, followed closely, setting his season's best at 10.5.
In the 200, Eugen Eldracher tamed Tolan, as both crossed the line in 21.8.
