One of the season’s best decathlons took place at the Kansas Relays. Tom Churchill, a tough rival of Olympic Champion Paavo Yrjölä, achieved the season’s fourth-highest score with 7,415.195 points (1921 table). Wilson Charles trailed by only about twenty points. Charles led after the first day, but Churchill powered through on the second day, clinching victory with an impressive javelin throw.
