Zátopek completely superior in the 10,000 metres, disaster for the Finns

Emil Zátopek of Czechoslovakia dominated the 10,000 metres race in a spectacular fashion on the opening day of track and field at the London Olympic Games. For the Finns the race was a major disaster:  Salomon Könönen finished 9th,  Viljo Heino and Evert Heinström dropped out. This wasn't supposed to happen like this.
