Franklin Field, Philadelphia, PA, April 23–24, 1926
The Penn Relays were traditionally held on the same weekend as the Drake Relays. In 1926, Franklin Field saw faster relay baton passing than Des Moines, although otherwise the 22nd annual Penn Relays were somewhat overshadowed by the Midwestern meet.
The University of Pennsylvania won the 4x110 yards relay with the season's sixth-fastest time of 42.0, while in the 4x440 yards race, Georgetown University repeated its previous year's victory with a time of 3:19.8.
Anthony Plansky repeated his decathlon victory from the previous year. His score also improved to 7161.655 points (using the 1920 scoring table), with which the multi-event athlete of Czech descent achieved fourth place in the season's world rankings. Finns Paavo Yrjölä and Akilles Järvinen, as well as Sweden's Evert Nilsson, ranked higher.
