Finnish sweep in the 10,000 metres
Finland secures a clean sweep in the Olympic running event, as the last non-Finn, Japan's Kohei Murakoso, is defeated in the final lap. The boys from Kymenlaakso, south eastern Finland, Ilmari Salminen and Arvo Askola, fiercely compete for the victory. Volmari Iso-Hollo from Kerava, southern Finland, secures the third medal.

Woellke claims the shot put gold
Sulo Bärlund of Finland takes the lead on the fifth round by throwing 16.12m (52-10 1/4). After that Hans Woellke of Germany loads 16.20m (53-1 3/4) and claims the gold.
