Zürich, September 1, 1929
The traditional Switzerland v Germany athletics match saw somewhat modest results. However, shot put dominator Emil Hirschfeld demonstrated his consistent form, launching the brass ball to 15.90—just 14 centimeters shy of his own world record.
Switzerland’s Schneider won the high hurdles in 15.5, setting a new national record.
Germany won the match once again, 83–54.
