University Stadium, Austin, TX, March 27, 1925
Olympic champion in the high jump and decathlon, Harold Osborn, initiated his outdoor season with a bang. In the Texas Relays in Austin, he cleared 205.5 (6-8 15/16). This result surpassed the official world record, set by the luminary of the Illinois Athletic Club the previous year, by one and a half centimetres. The event was an exhibition, so record keepers disregarded it with a shrug.
