Basel, Switzerland, August 30, 1925
Amsterdam Olympics 200 metres bronze medalist Helmut Körnig dominated the sprints in the fifth dual meet between Switzerland and Germany. He dashed to victory in both the 100m and 200m, although the times remained modest.
Germany had Europe's fastest sprint relay quartet. In the Basel meet, they stormed to an event victory with the season's fifth-fastest time of 42.2. American university sprint relay teams were only a few tenths away in terms of results.
Germany took the dual meet again. The fifth consecutive victory came with scores 89–53. The dual meet's scoring system changed to a modern form: the winner received four points, the second-placed three, the third two, and the fourth one point.
