Mikkola 75,61 (248-0)  –  WL in the javelin 

Matti Mikkola broke his personal best and set the world's best result in 1940 with a throw of 75.61m (248-0)  in a Hungary-Finland international match in Budapest.

A year later, he lost his life in the Continuation War when his plane crashed into the ground.
