Specific Integrations

Integrations to Vista in our cloud have three main types:
IMPORTS-BASED: Integrations that generate import files (e.g. CSV) for import into Vista.
HOSTED DIRECT DATABASE: Usually directly connected into Vista using ODBC and requiring that Viewpoint host some third party component.
Rarely approved under special circumstances only.
VPN DIRECT DATABASE: Usually directly connected into Vista using ODBC, but not requiring that Viewpoint host any components; these are suited for customer self-hosting and connection over a VPN.
Most Common.
CLIENT-SIDE APPS: These apps are ran on client workstations and can either connect to Vista's database directly, or are not designed to do so. With VRL, they are NOT hosted by Viewpoint. With RDP-based clouds, they ARE hosted by Viewpoint.
If a client-side app needs to connect to Vista's database directly, and the customer is using the VRL delivery method for Vista, then the customer does need to purchase a VPN to allow the client app to "see" the Vista database.

AppXchange / DataXchange, formerly Ryvit, supports a great many additional integrations to our ERPs than are supported through direct ERP connections.
