Windows 11, as the most recent version of Microsoft's client operating systems, has shown a significant uptake in our customer base. It is the future for Microsoft, and as such, Trimble Viewpoint is now supporting Windows 11 for client workstations.
However, due to the complexity of upgrading terminal server environments to a new client OS, please note that our RDP terminal services (i.e. our AVD servers) are not yet on Windows 11. This means that our RDP-based clouds: VEC RDP, VFC, and ProContractor Cloud (PCC) do not current run on the Windows 11 client platform.
Fortunately, customers of our modern Vista clouds, using Vista Remote Link (VRL), can install the Vista VRL client on their local workstations and have it still be supported. In fact as of 2023r1, we recommend Windows 11 as the client OS for the locally installed Vista VRL client.
Vista clients ARE supported and recommended for Windows 11 when running on local workstations; VRL. As such, any customer joining our latest cloud offering, Trimble Construction One (TC1), Viewpoint One (VP1) (with Vista Remote Link), will be able to use Vista on their Windows 11 workstations.
Vista clients are not yet supported on Windows 11 for our RDP-based clouds
RDP to Windows 11 Clients is NOT supported.
Applies to customers using our legacy RDP-based cloud solutions, Viewpoint for Cloud (VFC), ProContractor Cloud (PCC), and Viewpoint Enterprise Cloud (VEC) / RDP Published Apps.
Cascade Portal User Management IS supported with Windows 11
This applies to our legacy clouds only or to test environments which do not use SSO. This is fully compatible with Windows 11 clients, as this function is web-based only - no rich client needed.
AS PER ABOVE, AVD RDP IS NOT SUPPORTED IN WINDOWS 11
