How to Install the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Client

NOTE: This article is for installing / getting to AVD clients ONLY. It is NOT intended for actual usage of AVD clients. Overview
As mentioned in the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) transition article (XXXXXX), the move to AVD from NetApp / CloudWorkspace will be occurring from the end of September through part of November 2023. Once complete, customers will need to obtain and install an appropriate AVD client in order to connect to their RDP access to resources; this is the second step in continuing to connect to your RDP resources after the transition.
The need to use this new client applies to any customers using our RDP published apps feeds (e.g. VEC RDP or TC1/VP1 RDP) as well as customers using our virtual desktop solution, known as Viewpoint For Cloud (VFC).
Please see below for instructions and screenshots on how to install various flavors of AVD client.
NOTE: ONLY ONE OPTION FOR AVD CLIENT IS NEEDED
HOWEVER, YOU MAY USE MORE THAN ONE - JUST NOT AT THE SAME TIME!

Installing Remote Desktop Client for Windows
This application is the standard RDP client application for Windows operating systems. It can be used to download a feed of the published applications available to you in our RDP for your environments.
Double click the .msi file or click on it from the download list in your web browser
NOTE: You may wish to roll out the MSI file using a GPO, Microsoft Intune, Or some other centralized deployment solution.

2. Click Next on the installer screen that follows

3. Accept the license agreement

4. Wait for the installer to complete, then click "Finish".

Azure Virtual Desktop Web Client
This client can be accessed at the following URL: https://client.wvd.microsoft.com/arm/webclient/
NOTE: No installation is needed for this client. Merely Log In. See the FAQ article on Using and Logging in to your AVD client for more information on what's next:
Installing the Remote Desktop Client for macOS
Click on the button to obtain the Microsoft Remote Desktop client in the macOS app store.
Wait for the install to finish.
You may open the application if you wish to proceed right away.
Remote Desktop Client for iOS / iPadOS
Click on the button to obtain the Microsoft Remote Desktop client in the iOS app store.
Wait for the install to finish.
You may open the application if you wish to proceed right away.
Remote Desktop Client for Android / Chrome OS
Click on the button to obtain the Microsoft Remote Desktop client in the Google Play store.
Wait for the install to finish.
