Description:
As per many other server-side integrations to third-party products, this product is designed to talk to Vista's database directly using ODBC. In addition, this integration uses file imports to push data into Vista. As such, this connection requires that the Vista server be "visible" to the third party system. To ensure that the two systems can communicate, we set up a server to server IPSEC VPN between our cloud and the customer environment.
NOTE: The TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN) is NOT an option for customers using this solution as it requires the ability to see the Viewpoint Repository's Pickup Folder for automated, server to server file imports. This can only be done over a connection method that allows for SMB file share mapping. Thus, only an IPSEC VPN will work in this case.
tl;dr: Customers who need to integrate WorkMax on premise with Vista in our cloud need to purchase an IPSEC VPN.

Updated to note that only the IPSEC VPN is a viable connection method due to need for import files over SMB.
