SSRS reports are commonly used by Viewpoint Vista customers to create dashboards, custom reports, and more. Due to the importance of SSRS reports for both Vista VRL and HFF, two SSRS instances are needed in our cloud, both pointing to the same Vista database server. One has custom security turned ON (required by VRL for authorization) and one has custom security OFF (required by HFF). As two SSRS instances are required, using SSRS reports in our cloud might be confusing initially. As such, this FAQ article will describe the steps and aspects of uploading, using and managing SSRS reports in our cloud.

SSRS reports can be experienced in one of three ways in the Viewpoint Vista ecosystem:

  • Within Vista itself as a custom report

  • Using a web browser directly to the SSRS instance in question

    • Usually used for report management only

  • Within the HFF Report library

Each of these three ways to experience SSRS reporting has a different method to use those SSRS reports. However, there are only a couple of ways to get reports into the cloud. As such, we will be covering the uploading and adding of SSRS reports into the Vista cloud first.
