Viewpoint's cloud solutions provide a sophisticated level of information security standards. Part of our robust information security baseline standards are a set of requirements around password complexity, aging, and expiration.
Note: For customers using Viewpoint's SSO integration from Viewpoint ID to Microsoft Azure AD, all password complexity and expiration standards are set by your IT at the Microsoft Azure AD level; these Viewpoint-specific standards do not apply to you.
Passwords for customers in our cloud are set to expire by default at 90 Days after initial creation.
We are required to keep that as our standard in order to satisfy the stringent requirements to maintain industry-leading cloud security certifications, including SOC 2 Type 2.
To reset your password you may use the password reset page at the following URL: How do my end users reset their passwords in your cloud?
To enable self password resets you should ensure that your email address and cell phone number are added into the cloud admin portal.
Passwords should be mixed upper and lowercase, with special characters and numbers.
Passwords should not be reused in our cloud.
Note: we realize that these password complexity and reset requirements can cause difficulties with usability for your end-users. To that end, we recommend the use of a password manager such as 1Password or LastPass to avoid the need to memorize multiple unique passwords for each website.
