Fivetran's cloud solution is a bi-directional data integration platform allowing customers to sync data between systems and gather data in one place to power analytics and to normalize data flows amongst different solutions.
This product is similar to and competes with other data integration and analytics platforms and has some overlap with Aquifer Cloud and with Trimble Viewpoint's AppXchange.
This integration uses import files and ODBC to connect to Vista. The actual data flows are enabled through the use of SSIS packages to trigger the data flows, as well as, in some cases, custom procedures.
We do not support hosting of this product in our cloud; this is a multi-tenant cloud-native solution hosted in the vendor's cloud infrastructure.
The integration will be enabled by the use of an IPSEC VPN or TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN) (PREFERRED) to the third party, FiveTran cloud as well as, where applicable the use of the CozyRoc SFTP plugin to transfer import files via SFTP.
tl;dr: Customers who need to integrate Fivetran with Vista will need to coordinate with Fivetran to set up either a TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN) or IPSEC VPN. In addition, depending upon the items being transferred, an SFTP connection (enabled by the CozyRoc plugin), triggered by SSIS packages will be used.
