How to Reset Passwords in Cascade Portal
NOTE: This also applies to BOTH Azure Virtual Desktop RDP (AVD) users AND VRL users who are using our legacy authentication mechanism, where the usernames are in the format of VIEWPOINT\username.code

Overview
Often times either administrators or end-users will need to reset their passwords in our AVD environment. This article contains instructions step-by-step on how to reset passwords from either the admin or end-user perspective.
End User Password Resets
Please note that the following steps presume that you have already completed the initial user set up and first login into your environment. If you have not done so, you will be unable to reset your password using this method as you will NOT yet have an MFA method added to your account. To log into your environment for the first time, please follow the steps enumerated at the following cloud FAQ article:
Step by Step - Self Service Password Reset
Browse to the following URL: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/passwordreset#!/
Enter your account's name, which should be in the following format. (NOTE: If you do not know your company code, please reach out to your Trimble Viewpoint ERP Cloud systems administrator):
IMPORTANT: This username will be different than the previous user name in any previous RDP cloud. Your previous usernames were likely in the format of FirstInitialLastName@companyIdentifier
NEW Username format for AVD: firstinitial.lastname.companycode@viewpoint.cloud
Click "Next".
Remember, this account is NOT the same account as the one that you normally used to login to either your Windows workstation or to Microsoft Azure Active Directory:
It is UNIQUE to the Trimble Viewpoint AVD implementation.

4. Click "next" and the system will send a notification number to your Microsoft Authenticator app that was set up on your mobile device previously.

5. Enter the number showing on your PC's screen into the Microsoft Authenticator app prompt on your mobile device.
6. Tap "yes" on your mobile device.

Admin Password Resets
From time to time, customer administrators will need to reset passwords for end-users on their behalf. The following steps walk you through that process.
Step by Step - Admin Originated Password Resets
Browse to the Cascade User Management portal: https://cascade.viewpoint.cloud
Click the Sign in Button.
Figure 7: click sign in
3. Click the appropriate account to log into AVD.
NOTE: If you have more than one environment in our cloud that you manage, you will thus have multiple admin accounts and will need to choose the correct one with which to log in.
For example, if you manage two environments in our cloud, Production (company code: XXXX) and Test (company code: YYYY), you would have two admin accounts, one for each environment
The company code is how the system knows to which environment your account is associated.
Production: FirstInitial.LastName.XXXX@viewpoint.cloud
Test: FirstInitial.LastName.YYYY@viewpoint.cloud
IMPORTANT REMINDER
Customer admins have a unique account for EACH environment they manage. You will choose the environment you will manage by logging in with the correct username.

4. If you are not already fully signed in, you may need to go through the standard login process for AVD as enumerated in the following cloud FAQ article. Please note, you most likely do not need to perform the first time user login steps. Logging In - Via Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
5. You will then see a screen appear while the cascade portal is loading.

6. The environment's main admin screen (Home page) will now load.
