In the Trimble Viewpoint cloud, we have moved toward using a common set of credentials for logins into our solutions. Known as Trimble ID, this solution can also be federated (i.e. linked) to your Azure AD or Okta setup so that users do not need to create and manage yet another login. However, please note that if the user in question does not have access to log in via Azure AD or Okta (e.g. they do not have a corporate email address), then that user should set up their own, new standalone account in Trimble ID.
Each user who needs to use any cloud-based Trimble Viewpoint product, such as Vista, Spectrum, Team Project Management, Team's platform, Viewpoint ID, Viewpoint Analytics, or Vista Web (i.e. HFF or Keystyle) will need to set up a Trimble ID account.
These steps begin for end users at the point where their email invitation has been received and will walk any end user through the process of finalizing their Trimble ID account.
Your users will now need to proceed through setting up and registering their new Team user account. Please note that if their email is part of your domain and if your domain is federated to Azure or Okta, the user will have a slightly different registration look and feel.
Now that you have received your emailed invitation into Trimble ID, you can begin the process.
First you now need to accept that invitation and set up your account. This section covers the steps of creating your Trimble ID account ONLY. Any other steps needed to provide access to a specific Trimble Viewpoint product, such as Vista Web, Spectrum, Vista, etc., will be shown in other articles.
Please note that the series of steps you will follow during this overall process is tied to whether or not you will be using a corporate email address to login through Trimble ID and whether your organization has federated your email domain from Trimble ID to Azure AD or Okta.
The end user will receive an email invitation letter from Viewpoint. Once it is received it will look like the below screenshot.
Click "Confirm Email and Configure Account" button.
Figure 4: Click Email Confirmation Button
3. Once you click that button, you will then be presented with a screen that will require you to enter your first and last name. Please enter those on the screen.
4. Optionally, you may enter your phone number.
5. NOTE: IF you are not using your corporate email, or if your corporate email is not linked to Azure AD or Okta, you will see a field to create a standalone password for your new Trimble ID Account on this page. Please choose a complex password, ideally using a secure password manager and then enter it here.
6. Click "Next".
Figure 5: Enter First and Last name to finish creating your account.
7. On the next screen, you will be asked to finalize your Trimble ID account setup, by once again entering your First and Last name.
8. Ensure your email matches the one entered previously, then click next.

9. IF you are not using your corporate email, or if your corporate email is not linked to Azure AD or Okta, you may see another screen to create a standalone password for your new Trimble ID Account on the next page. Please choose a complex password, ideally using a secure password manager and then enter it here.
10. Your next set of steps depend on whether or not you are using a corporate email address that is linked (i.e. "Federated") to a third party provider, including Microsoft Azure AD (Entra ID) or Okta.
Federated Azure AD / Entra ID or Okta: If your corporate email is linked to one of these two systems, your next step after clicking "Next" is to log in to Microsoft Azure AD or Okta. Once you are logged in via Azure AD or Okta, your Trimble ID account set up will be complete.
NOT Federated: If you do not have a corporate email that is federated to Azure AD or Okta, you may find that your organization is requiring your new, standalone Trimble ID account to have MFA (Multi-factor Authentication) turned on. Also known as Two or Second Factor Authentication (2FA), this will require that you enter your cell phone email, a different email, or use an authenticator app that will generate a rotating code to use as an additional set of security upon login.
If you encounter this requirement from your company's IT organization, please follow the instructions on the screen to set up your MFA.
For step by step instructions on setting this up for standalone Trimble ID accounts, please see the following article: https://help.trimble.com/s/article/How-do-I-enable-multi-factor-authentication-MFA
As you will be starting from later in the process, please use Step 3 in the above linked article.
Once your TID account has been set up, you should be able to proceed with your login into your desired tool(s):
