Adding and Removing Users from User Groups in the Cascade Portal
Author: Eric Vasbinder
From time to time, you will need to add or remove users from the local AD groups that are managed through the Cascade portal. These user groups in your Viewpoint ERP Cloud tenant are actually AD user groups behind the scenes, groups whose membership controls permissions and access to various resources. These resources can include things such as the ability to run the RDP apps that have been published in your environment or perhaps mounting the Viewpoint Repository or ADP file shares using SMB over an IPSEC VPN.
As such, it is important for anyone with admin rights in the Cascade portal to understand how to add or remove users from user groups. Please read on for detailed instructions on how to first add a user, then on how to remove a user from a user group in Cascade.
Browse to https://cascade.viewpoint.cloud and then log in.
Once logged in you will see your main Cascade home screen, which should be the "User Management" tab, showing the users in the local AD in your Viewpoint cloud environment.
Please click on "Group Management" to proceed.

5. Once the group screen has loaded, please click "Add Members" to show a list of the users in your environment that you can add.
NOTE: Users MUST be added in to Cascade prior to attempting to add them to a group.

8. Once the new users have appeared in the above members list, please click Update Group.
NOTE: If you do not click Update Group, the process will NOT be completed and the users will NOT be added.

Once you are on the group management screen, please click on the "Trash can" to remove the user(s) in question the group list.
Click "Update Group" to push through the change.
NOTE: Again, as per the above, if you do not click on "Update Group" your changes will NOT be completed and the users will remain in the group.
