In modern organizations, very few specific firewall ports need to be opened for a vanilla installation of Vista and associated Trimble products (e.g. Team, HFF, etc.) Third-party integrations are another story: many of them require direct connectivity to the Vista database and/or automatic imports via the pickup folder.
Vista over VRL: HTTPS port 443
It is rare that this port is not open as it is applicable to all web traffic.
SMB Access to Mount Viewpoint Repository Pickup Folder (OPTIONAL FOR AUTO IMPORTS ONLY):
SMB Protocol: Port 139 and 445
ODBC Access Direct to Vista Database (OPTIONAL FOR INTEGRATIONS ONLY) (e.g. SSMS, Crystal Builder, Spreadsheet Server, etc.):
Over IPSEC VPN:
TCP port 1433 inbound and outbound (this is the actual DB connection)
(OPTIONAL) UDP Port 1434 inbound and outbound (this is the SQL Server Browser service)
Over TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN):
Use the custom port specified by our cloud engineering team for the TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN)
FOR MORE DETAILS ON WHICH PORTS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH INTEGRATION, PLEASE SEE THE INTEGRATION SPECIFIC DETAIL PAGE ON THIS CLOUD FAQ, LINKED HERE: Specific Integrations
