Currently, when a user's password has expired, Vista will show a notification upon login: the message displayed is, “System Error: Please Contact Administrator”. When the end user is connecting to Vista in our cloud, using the Vista Remote Link (VRL) connection method, end users will not see a notification around expired passwords from the Windows OS, either.
As such, please note that when you encounter the error, “System Error: Please Contact Administrator” upon trying to log in to Vista, this error is likely referring to an expired cloud password.
This can be easily corrected. Please use the following steps as a guide:
Ensure your email address and / or mobile phone is associated with your profile in the CloudWorkspace Portal: https://viewpoint.partner.manage.cloudworkspace.com
Your company's assigned, Viewpoint cloud portal administrator should be able to check to see if your profile has your email address and/or mobile phone listed.
If your email address and/or mobile is not in your CloudWorkspace Portal, please reach out to your company's assigned Viewpoint cloud portal administrator. Your company's admin can add your email address and / or cell phone to your Viewpoint cloud profile.
If you do not have an email or mobile phone that can can be used, your company's cloud portal admin will need to reset your password for you.
Once your email and/or phone is added to the Viewpoint portal, please reset your password using our portal password reset page.
Here is the link for the Self-Service Password Reset Page: https://viewpoint.partner.manage.cloudworkspace.com/forgot-password
Please note that we are working on clearer error messaging for Vista, as well as mechanisms within our cloud itself to enable pre-expiry email notifications to end users regarding their passwords. Until then, please keep this information in mind.
