ERP Connection Overview:
This tool connects to the Vista database but, rather than connecting directly, this tool leverages a separate connection to our AppXchange cloud. Thus, as long as a customer has the AppXchange agent installed and connected to Vista, setting up this integration is fairly straightforward.
Deployment Methodology:
This product consists of a connector via REST APIs to the AppXchange cloud. AppXchange then connects to Vista using its standard ODBC connector agent, which may reside either externally to Trimble's ERP cloud (connected over a TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN) or IPSEC VPN) or hosted in the Trimble ERP cloud directly. If AppXchange is not already installed and configured, please reach out to our cloud support team via a support ticket to begin the process of connecting AppXchange to Vista.
Detailed Instructions:
Customer and Trimble: Validate if our Trimble AppXchange agent is installed either in Trimble's ERP cloud in your environment or in an external location. If in a customer environment, does it have connectivity to Vista over a TLS Database Endpoint (TLS VPN) or an IPSEC tunnel?
Customer, Partner, and/or Trimble: Install and configure the AppXchange agent as needed.
Customer, Trimble AppXchange, and Partner: Coordinate to enable connectivity through to our AppXchange cloud.
tl;dr: This connection is enabled by leveraging Trimble's AppXchange. Our AppXchange agent MUST be connected to Vista in the cloud. Once AppXchange is connected to Vista, the customer may work with our AppXchange team and BuildOps directly to set up integration.
