ERP Connection Overview:
As per many other server-side integrations to third-party products, this product is designed to talk to Vista's database by obtaining import files (e.g. CSV files) from the third party solution, which are placed into Vista's autoimport pickup directory. This connection requires a data connector "shim" program that can communicate with the third party, parse the resulting information, create the appropriate CSV files, then place them in the Vista pickup directory. In addition, information is also pulled from the Vista database, converted into CSV files, then needs to be uploaded to the vendor's cloud. Both mechanisms make use of libraries from WinSCP to create an SCP connection to the Chrome River cloud to upload and download CSV files.
Deployment Methodology:
This product consists of WinSCP libraries that need to be installed on the D3 server, but triggered by a SQL agent job running on the Vista server (usually D1) itself.
Detailed Instructions:
Customer: Submit a cloud support request to have the WinSCP libraries installed on D3 and the SQL Agent job configured.
Viewpoint: Install the necessary libraries and configure the job.
Partner or Customer: Configure package to push and pull data via SFTP and to place the resulting import files into the Vista pickup directory.
tl;dr: The WinSCP libraries for this product are installed in the Viewpoint Cloud, but hosted on a separate server (D3). The SQL agent job is configured on the Vista server. Customers wishing to use this tool must submit a support request to Viewpoint cloud support. The customer and/or partner then configures this solution to point to Chrome River and to the pickup directory.
