Day-3 > Ganguni - Vaidyakot

Day-3 Dec-22: Ganguni - Pinder River 1844M - Patak Village - Vaidyakot 2070M = 12Kms

We left Ganguni at 9:00am after a breakfast of Maggie. Initially we trekked along many ridges and then made a steep climb down to the Pindar river crossing it over a bridge (9:40am).

As we leave Ganguni, Anand poses with a school girl

Then a steep climb for another 3 hours, crossing several ridges to reach the Patak Village tea shop at 12:30pm where we stopped briefly for tea. Then after half hour after turning right around a ridge suddenly we saw Vaidyakot sprawled below in a huge valley of stepped terraces of fields of paddy.

We had still to walk down considerable way to reach the main village square and a bit beyond to reach our Homestay. It was nice room with a cot-bed, dish-TV and power in the evenings, that I could use to re-charge all my camera batteries. The adjacent room was a kitchen that Debu used to cook our meals. Debu was keen for me to visit the famous Devi temple of this village, in the afternoon. It involved a climb of 300-400M to a hill top and I said I don't have the energy left to do that. So I gave my P&S camera to Anand and Ramesh who went up the hill and took many pictures.

It was pretty cold in Vaidyakot; about 11*C inside the room in the afternoon. After dinner was about to go to sleep at 8:00Pm when Debu and some villagers walked into see TV! Had to politely tell them, I am too tired and want to sleep and so if they want to see TV here they need to find me another bedroom. But they were too humble and said they will skip TV too.
