I went driving in my small car, Tata Indica-V2 Diesel, which seemed to be a best fuel-cost efficient option (in 2005), giving an average of 20 Km/Lt. I did'nt drive more than 250-300 kms a day, taking an easy paced journey.

Most days, I started early morning around 6:30-7:00AM and reached my next Stop by noon. On reaching my destination, I would check into a hotel/lodge, relax a bit and after lunch, see the town sights, till late evening. I would drive away next morning, to the next stop.

In places, where there were lots of things to see (like Khajuraho), I stayed an extra day or two.
