8 Bome - Nyingchi

1st November 2025 Drive from Bome to Nyingchi  (230Kms - 4.5Hrs)

We started from our Bome Hotel after breakfast and drove along G-318 westward heading for our next night-stop at Nyingchi. It was to be a "big" day today for we are to stop and see Namche Barwa snow peak today. But it was a rainy, cloudy day today and it seemed unlikely that we will get to view Namche Barwa.

Soon we got held up on the Highway G318, for 2 hours, at a place where traffic was stopped for some construction work. After that we stopped at a huge Suspension Bridge near the junction of two rivers.

On the we stopped at a beautiful scenic town for lunch at  Speciality Stone pot lunch in  Lulang town . 

turned out to be a very disappointing  day as we reached the Namche Barwa Viewing Platform on G318. Absolutely no view of the mighty peak and we were quite disappointed. Our Guide Jamyang had taken a beautiful sunny picture about a week back from here on his way to pick us up.
