The specific heat capacity of a material is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of a substance by 1K or 1^oC.

In order to measure this quantity we need to be able to measure the amount of energy that added to a material.

We would also need to measure the change in temperature and the ..... mass of the substance.

the units of s.h.c are J kg^-1 K^-1

The Heat Capacity is the energy required to raise the temperature of a body by 1K. (No consideration of mass)
