by I'm Not Mister Mxypltk
Berlin, Germany:
Danny Hearn, Tobias Christopher, and Marv Velo stood in the cemetery and looked at the sky. A big ball of light floated where M'xy and K'tl had been. Then, the ball of light started expanding.
The light was so bright that it blinded the heroes, and not even T.C. was able to react because of his temporary blindness. Soon, the whole cemetery was covered by the light.
And then the light disappeared.
But the cemetery wasn't back to normal: now it was covered by dense smoke emanating from the ground. As the smoke started clearing up, the ruin that was the cemetery now was made visible. The tombs, the crypts, the guardian's post -- everything had been turned into debris. The vegetation was all dead. Not even the gates had survived whatever the ball of light had done to the place.
Danny, Velo, and T.C. were buried under the debris. Only Danny's right arm was visible, and it was covered in blood. The only being that remained conscious and on his feet was K'tl, in Mick Harrison's body. Lying close to him was M'xy. The body M'xy was using, that of Tom, was severely burned everywhere. The few clothes he had been wearing were gone.
K'tl looked around. He seemed to be waiting for someone or something. And suddenly, it arrived. It came for everywhere at once. The only being there to see it had a fifth-dimensional mind, and even he had troubles understanding it. It was something even more complex than a fifth-dimensional being. It was an eighth-dimensional being. K'tl wasn't sure if it was one or more beings, or if the concept even applied.
"It was about time," K'tl said.
"THE CONCEPT OF TIME IS TOO PRIMITIVE FOR ME/US, 5-D. IT SHOULD BE FOR YOU, TOO," it somehow communicated to K'tl. It wasn't exactly talking, but K'tl could understand the message.
"I've been here too long, I guess. Here's your prisioner," K'tl said, pointing at M'xy. "Don't let him escape this time, eh?"
"HE WAS TAKEN TO HELL, 5-D. HELL IS OUTSIDE MY/OUR JURISDICTION. THEN HE WAS TAKEN HERE. BUT HE WON'T BE FREED THIS TIME. I/WE WILL KEEP HIM COMPLETELY INCOMMUNICADO."
"Just take him and go away."
"I/WE AM/ARE NOT REALLY HERE, 5-D. WHEN I/WE COME, IT WILL BE TO STAY."
Then something come out of Tom's burnt body. It was like the eighth-dimensional being, only somehow less complex. A fifth-dimensional being.
"Goodbye, bro," K'tl said as the eighth- and fifth-dimensional beings slowly started to disappear.
"WHAT WILL YOU DO IN 3-D NOW, 5-D?"
"Oh, you know. I got several beings to kill. When I'm done with M'xy's friends, I guess I'll continue with everyone else, until they run out."
"GOOD. THEN THERE WILL BE NO BEINGS TO INTERFERE WHEN I/WE START THE COLONIZATION," it communicated, and seconds later they were completely gone.
K'tl looked around. He was alone now. Then he fell on his arse as reality around him started changing.
The cemetery was no longer in complete ruins. The vegetation was back. The gates were restored.
From behind a crypt came Danny, T.C., and Velo.
"Is it over, M'xy?" Velo asked.
K'tl/Mick looked at him. He started changing too, into M'xy/Tom. And at the same time, M'xy/Tom lying next to him changed into K'tl/Mick... only K'tl wasn't there anymore.
"It's over," M'xy/Tom said with a smile. He seemed tired from making the big illusion he had just created, but happy it was over at the same time.
Mick Harrison woke up. Being used to waking up in weird places and feeling confused (from even before he met M'xy), he didn't panic like most people would.
"What happened?" Mick asked.

"Neat," Mick replied, getting on his feet.
Mick looked at M'xy/Tom sitting on the grass. "Well?" he said. "What are you waiting for?"
"For what?" M'xy asked.
"Getting into my body again. C'mon, if that guy wants a fifth-dimensional being, he should get one of his own. C'mon, c'mon, hop in."
M'xy smiled. "There I--"
"--go!" he said, now in Mick's body. "Well, guys, I'd love to catch up, but it's time for my nap! See ya! MICK!"
"Well... what now?" Velo asked.
"We have to find the book," Danny answered. "That's what we're here for, after all."
"What about you?" T.C. said to Tom. "Where did M'xy take you from?"
"The Philippines," Tom replied.
"Wow. That's a long way from here. Want me to give you a leap?" Tobias asked.
"No, thanks," Tom said. "I think I'll walk."
