by I'm Not Mister Mxypltk
M'xy, Nowhereman and Naecken were in an empty corridor. Nowhereman carried Jason "Reptile-Boy" Thomas in his arms, and M'xy was sitting on the floor with his eyes closed, concentrating, while Naecken kept an eye on the other corridors to see if anyone came.
"Are you done yet?" Nowhereman said impatiently.
M'xy replied, "Wait a minute, will you? This isn't an easy thing to do."
"What's the big deal?" demanded Nowhereman. "You are 5-D -- this should be easy to do!"
"I'm not 5-D right now!" M'xy retorted. "This is a 3-D body, haven't you noticed? I have a 5-D MIND that allows me to do stuff you can't do, but if I'm not in the fifth dimension, I'm not fifth dimensional!"
"So go back to the fifth dimension already!"
"It's not that simple," said M'xy. "I can't return until I finish my mission."
"Oh?" said Nowhereman. "So what's the plan?"
M'xy explained, "I can look at this building 'as a blueprint' like Eurostar said if I get out of Mick's body for a second... not long enough to lose me link, but long enough to take a glimpse at this place... and I will do that if you LET ME CONCENTRATE!"
"Okay, okay..." Nowhereman said, adding, "...arse-face."
M'xy stayed there motionless, until he suddenly fell unconscious, and one second later he revived. "Okay, done! I know where the place is. Naecken, come here!"
The three men gathered together, and M'xy popped them to the infirmary. Since a pop was not like a dimensional door, M'xy could pop himself to anywhere he wanted without having to spend much energy from Mick's body. But he could only carry with him a limited amount of three-dimensional matter to keep the space undisturbed.
"Okay... there you go, boy," Nowhereman said as he placed Jason in the cryogenic tomb.
"Phew!" said M'xy. "Mission accomplished!"
"Yay!" Nowhereman said. "Hey, Nae, what's with the large face? You should be happy!"
Naecken said, "I can't be happy about this."
M'xy replied, "Uh... why not?"
Naecken explained, "I think we're doing something horrible. The boy's mind is already dead. The only thing we're doing is prolonging the body's suffering."
M'xy and Nowhereman looked at Jason's body and realized he was right. M'xy said, "I see what you mean. Why didn't you say something before?"
"This is our mission," said Naecken. "I thought it was not appropriate to question it."
"Nonsense," snorted Nowhereman.
M'xy said, "I guess the only thing we can do is... pull the plug."
"You're right," Nowhereman agreed.
M'xy turned the tomb off, and the three men stayed there for a second and watched as the Revolutionaries saw their first fallen member. "This is not right. This shouldn't have happened. This doesn't happen where I come from. It shouldn't happen."
"What, death?" asked Nowhereman. "It happens all the time, pal."
For the first time, M'xy realized the importance of his mission... and the mission his new friends had. Naecken saw the sorrow on his face and said, "Don't worry. His soul is resting now."
The three continued their mourning, waiting for the rest of the team to arrive.
