Clive Collins, the young tycoon with the red goatee, sat behind his desk, talking into the cellular phone like always.
"Yes, sir, all went as planned. The three spots are clear in Uruguay, Alaska, and India. As I said before, we had problems in Uruguay with a team of... adventurers that the man responsible for the mining field had hired, but my man has solved them.
"What? Yes, they were called MBL. MBL Consulting, Inc. You know about them? Ah, I see. What? Send the group their payment? Why? They have destroyed the monsters? I don't get it... Okay, okay, I will, I will. I will send them the check in a day.
"There is the question about my man. I promised him the secret... you authorized me to promise it... now I have to fulfil... Ah, you will... Okay, a moment."
Collins wrote quickly an address on a piece of paper, with his Mountblanc fountain pen.
"Yes, this will end our business relations. You have the land, I have the money. And I have never heard anything about you."
Collins pressed the end button on the Nokia and put it on the desk.
"Aurochs!" he shouted.
The old wizard, visibly tired, walked in. "My reward, Collins."
"Here!" said the young man coldly, handing him the piece of paper.
Aurochs put one hand over it, sensing its trueness. "Goodbye, Collins."
"Farewell, Aurochs."
The day after, Aurochs was in Chicago, in one of the worst places of the city, in front of the door whose address was on the piece of paper. The mage pressed the doorbell.
It was an ugly woman who opened the door. "Come in, come in," she said.
Inside, around a table, was a strange assortment of people: a man in his thirties with bright red eyes, two big muscular men, identical like twins, and a being covered in scales, like a reptile. Behind them, in the darkness, was another man, whose face could not be seen.
"Mr. Bull! Or should I call you Aurochs? Please, take your seat among your new comrades!" exclaimed the mysterious man.
And Aurochs instantly knew that his life would be like never before.
