by Grimm, thedoctor and The Eurostar
Swarms of animals poured out of the darkness surrounding Grimm, Danny Hearn, and Pete Glover.
"Now this is more like it!" Grimm exclaimed as he began attacking with fierce abandon, never seeming to notice when the animals bit or scratched or clawed at him. He continued to plow through, taking down as many as he could with his axe, while losing sight of Danny and Pete.
Pete, for his part, was aided by his uncanny luck and managed to elude the creatures, turning many of them against one another. He connected with Danny and began searching for a way out of the tunnels, hordes of the creatures still hot on their heels.
Naecken did not seem to notice the large, winged being behind him, as he had sat down to meditate after the disappearance of Turkish Stringfellow. Naecken was in deep concentration, attempting to summon help from the apartment building back home on the island of La Perdita. He concentrated on contacting someone who could help, perhaps by opening a portal. M'xy? Yes, that was it! M'xy could certainly do it. Naecken felt something inside his mind give.
Back at the party in the apartment complex, Dirk Bell continued his advances toward the young lady.
Damn, I'm good, Dirk thought to himself as he further impressed the girl. "This is one I taught to the gloved one himself, before all that touchie-feelie stuff with Webster and Bubbles, that is." He began to do the most impressive moonwalk man had ever seen. Then it felt as though something knocked him off his balance.
The next thing he knew, Dirk was collapsing on top of Naecken. "What the hell was that?" he yelled while rolling off the demonlike creature. As he looked up, he saw the monster moving toward them. "Now this is gettin' good!"
The shameless one rolled back, away from the monster. As he stood up, Dirk produced two guns from his coat and opened fire, center mass, onto the oncoming threat. "Woohoooooooo!"
One minute ago, Aurochs observed the tall black demon that the others called Naecken, stopping still, like he was meditating.
"What is it doing?" the mage asked himself. The answer was easy. The glow of the air molecules was proof that the demon was succeeding in contacting someone who could open a portal of some kind.
"He is calling in reinforcements? No way!" shouted the old wizard, and quickly conjured up a spell to send beings from the hidden realm through the portal. But it was somehow late, and something scrambled: the summoning spell partially succeeded, only it was not M'xy who arrived, with his amazing dimensional powers; instead it was a two-gunned man that nobody had ever seen before to appear in front of the monsters.
While, at the other end of the portal, right in the middle of the party, Bhaghhh-rupth, lord of the flies and of the rotten land, appeared, roaring. With a slight resemblance to a giant bipedal turtle, all composed of decaying matter, clouds of insects flying around him, the beast looked at the crowd, and smiled.
