by LLance and T5
Lance Lorenzo stood at the window, looking off into space and still feeling somewhat fuzzy from the accidentally induced hallucinogens he had inhaled.
He was examining his life in his mind's eye in bits and pieces and events and happenings, and not really coming to any conclusions quickly. He could not honestly tell himself his life was on course, or if his life was ready to veer off on a perimeter and fall off an edge that would go on and on and on for quite a while, if not forever.
"I'll just hang," he mumbled.
And then, off on the skyline right above the tree line, Lance's eye caught a speck of something that might have seemed out of place, yet was still so far away. "Must be the drugs screwing with my eyes!" he said to himself.
He pulled the blind and went in to take a shower. "When will I be loved?" he complained to himself as he began to undress.
"Hi, there!" a mechanical voice said cheerfully to Lance, who stood there in his boxer shorts and T-shirt.
"Gaaah!" Lance stumbled backward into his bed and sat down. At first he thought that it was the drugs coming back into his system, then he realized that the talking dog he saw standing in front of him was actually mechanical.
"My name is T5, and I need your help," said the dog.
Lance replied, rather irritated, "Is this some kinda joke? What the hell are you doing in here? This is my private quarters, and you scared the socks off'a me."
T5 looked at his feet, which were still clothed with green socks. "I am terribly sorry if I frightened you. But can you please answer a question for me?"
"Hmmm... ooo-kay, then, but you get the hell out of here after that."
"As you wish." T5 sat on his hind legs and asked, "Have you seen this man?"
A holographic image of a man in a very weird leather suit, covered in what looked like wires and other machinery appeared in front of him.
"Er... no. Who is that?"
"He is called Ques, and I believe he is now incorporated into an otherdimensional composite being located in this part of the quasi-reality."
"Quasi-reality? ... You've lost me, man. Do you mean Naecken, our resident devil?"
"So the composite has taken a name? Not good. Where can I find him?"
"Now hold on here, just a minute. If you think I will rat on any of my friends, you're making a big mistake."
"A shame you take that attitude. I guess I will have to force the information out of you."
A bolt of lightning struck Lance in the chest and remained there. He screamed.
