M'xy said, "I suggest we just go out to the street."
Eurostar asked, "How is that going to help us find the source of the 'plague'?"
"Oh, I have a feeling we won't have any problems finding it," M'xy said, shrugging.
Naecken nodded. "You are right, I have the same feeling."
"Okay, then let's get moving!" suggested Tobias Christopher.
Twenty minutes later, on the roof of an old building, the group looked at the streets below them and the crowd of people flooding them. They all looked like walking zombies, full of hate.
Eurostar said, "My God... this is worse than I expected."
Some normal people tried to run away, scared, but they soon started behaving like the rest. Danny Hearn said, "Looks like this stuff is highly contagious. What should we do?"
Nowhereman suggested, "I say we follow 'em to wherever the hell they're going!"
"Good idea," said Eurostar. "But let's stay on the rooftops, where they can't see us. And please be..."
M'xy sneezed loudly.
"...quiet," finished Eurostar.
One of the infested people looked up at the roof and, seeing the six freaks hiding there, yelled, "OVER THERE! LET'S GET 'EM!"
M'xy laughed nervously, "Heh heh... sorry."
"This is the moment where we should shout our battle cry!" said Tobias, watching the dozens of possessed people that begin to crawl over the wall of the building to reach the team.
"Well, at least they haven't any special powers, except those black eyes," Eurostar noted, watching the crowd of thousands of zombies still on the street below.
"I wouldn't be so sure," said a voice behind us. The group turned to see the young woman that they spotted earlier at the circus, shortly after their first performance.
"Who are you?" shouted Nowhereman.
"No time for introductions. They're heading to the Zoo!" shouted the girl, then leaping away onto a nearby roof, quickly going out of sight.
"The Zoo?" said Eurostar, wondering.
"The Zoo is the secret prison for metahumans," explained Tobias, "the place where the MCCA brought me and M'xy. It's a place full of metas. Two hundred at least."
"But none of them had major powers, Tobias," added M'xy.
"That's of no importance," the female voice of Naecken said. "When they are possessed, the metagene will manifest at its full potential."
"And the ones of Alpha Class will be enough powerful to tear apart the whole country," Eurostar added soberly. "Quickly! There isn't a minute to waste!"
The team scrambled, and suddenly Nowhereman had a flash of wisdom. "We need transportation!"
Naecken pointed to one of the circus tractors. "Will that do?"
"You sure need to read more about our world, Naecken," said Eurostar. "That heap of metal is way too slow. We need a van or something like it."
"Give me three seconds," Tobias said as he sped off. A few seconds later, a large blue and white van pulled up.
"Where did you get that?" M'xy asked.
"Junkyard," Tobias said. "It needs some work, but at least it runs."
"What are we waiting for?" Eurostar said. "Let's roll!"
