by T5 and LLance
Lance Lorenzo was close to death, and he knew it.
His heart was racing, and there was only one thing to do. His body suddenly had the same density as lead, which allowed him to gain some resistance to the onslaught from the small mechanical dog that had introduced itself as T5.
His leg, which now was very heavy, stomped on the dog, crushing it completely. The bolt of lightning ceased. Gasping, he ran out of the apartment and into the elevator.
Suddenly, the elevator stopped, and a voice came out from its small emergency speaker. "Nice try, little man. But I will hold you here until you tell me what I want to know."
"Like hell you will!" Lance screamed as he started to phase out of the elevator roof.
Suddenly, a high-pitched sound came though the emergency speaker. Lance felt his concentration slipping as his body slowly began to solidify. Instinctively, Lance's partially phased hand groped for the wires above the speaker. He fell to the floor as the noise abruptly stopped. The door opened, and a man dragged the semiconscious Lance out into the hallway.
"Wh-who are you?" Lance asked as darkness claimed him.
"I'm the drummer from the band. I heard screams in here and thought you needed help. Should I call the police?"
Lance looked around after his assailant and shrugged. "No, it seems to be gone now. Help me to the kitchen."
They staggered into the kitchen, meeting up with Sam Dawson and Shirley Francis, who were busy preparing food for everyone.
Aboard the plane in Uruguay, panic rose as everyone realized the captive could be harboring a secret bomb.
Turkish Stringfellow immediately sensed the liquid containers wrapped around the waist of the pilot. The pin seemed to be a microphone, so whoever was on the other side now knew the game was up.
"Naecken, hurry," he urged.
Naecken quickly ripped off the containers and stuffed them into his mouth, holding his jaws together with his hands.
Then the bomb went off.
Some of the liquid sprayed out his nose, and his cheeks puffed like balloons, but the explosion was contained. As the tension went away, everyone laughed at this sight.
Danny Hearn said, "Three cheers for our weirdos, Naecken and Stringfellow! Hip-hip, hoorayyy... hip-hip hoorayyy... hip-hip hoorayyy!"
Tobias Christopher agreed. "You did well. We would have been smudge now if it hadn't been for everyone's great reflexes and quick thinking. Looks like this team will be an efficient one."
"Well, now that the immediate danger is gone, shall we go over the mission profile? It would be best to land prepared, don't you think?"
They all sat down and looked at the map and read about the country they had now entered.
