Even the insects seemed to hide from the heat that day. Not a single cloud could be seen for miles. A couple of fruit merchants on donkeys were the only signs of life on the dusty dirt road.
The car bounced along the uneven stones and water-worn holes, seemingly fighting gravity to keep from falling apart. Inside the rusty vehicle, Biggins swore at the top of his lungs. The brakes sure picked a great time to fall apart.

Sam Dawson was preparing breakfast for everyone, with a few hints here and there from Grimm, who liked his bacon just on the crispy side.
Most of the members of the patchwork gang were sitting in the dining room talking about the local foods and engaging in other small talk, when the swarm came crashing through the windows.

Mick Harrison was desperately trying to cool himself off in the shower when two of the little critters entered. One of them jumped up on his shoulders and began punching him on the head with his little fists. The other tried to bite his legs.
Turkish Stringfellow and Naecken were in deep meditation, trying to heal the wound on his arm that apparently went beyond the physical flesh. The swarm covered them in seconds before they managed to come out of the trance.
Grimm and Dirk Bell protected Sam and Shirley Francis, but apparently the little critters were looking for something else, as they had no problems in exterminating a whole bunch of the distracted little goblins.
