MBL stands for two groups: One, an assortment of many writers who wrote stories over the years on various message boards, including the DC Comics Message Boards, the Promethean City/Athanon Message Boards, and Rob's Damn Boards. Two, a fictional team of metaheroes (superheroes) who lived in their own comics-inspired universe. Both are called the Message Board League, or MBL.
The Message Board League of writers first began collaborating on the JLA forum on the old DC Comics Message Boards. A group of steadfast message board members posted stories featuring characters they created themselves, using their usernames. The Message Board League of writers includes the writers of TOMB (Timeline Orderkeepers of the Message Board), HOBBES (Heroes Of Boards Breaking Evil's Spine), JAMB (Juvenile Adolescents of the Message Board), and TIAMAT (Thunder Institute for Advanced Meta-Ability Training), of the so-called "MBL Universe," and Vanguard, Vanguard Europe, B-Squad, C-Men, Royal Society of Rogues, Krononauts, and the New MBL of the so-called "Vanguard Universe."
MBL also stands for the fictional metahero team known under the name "Message Board League" and other versions of the MBL acronym, such as the Metahuman Brotherhood League. For the purposes of this site, "Message Board League" will refer to the writers, and "MBL" will refer to the fictional team, named here as the Meta Board League.
This site will archive edited and/or rewritten versions of all the MBL stories in chronological order. In many cases, especially for the later ones, the stories will need little editing. In other cases, scenes will need to be expanded, written, or cut in order to improve the quality of the story. So far, one complete story has been archived and edited, with others in progress:
