Edulcore Cicciotto:
I can't believe we are stuck here with these two bozos while we should look for Danny. I can't believe we have taken down the whole of TriVext full of lizard guards AND a marine serpents only a few days ago, and thwarted a terrorist act this morning without even being seen, and now we are beaten up by these two puppets on steroids. I could easily kill them both. Just reach them in my invisible form, turning my hands ghost and ripping their hearts away. But I don't want to kill them. I want to stop this madness, but I don't want to kill them. Why are they fighting? Who gave them these swords? There are many questions that need answers.
"Velo! Those swords... what kind of technology is that? Mandelovian?"
"Mandelovian? You can't find swords like those on the whole planet!"
"You mean?"
"It's some kind of alien device. I should look at them closely, though."
"You know alien technology? You know aliens?"
"Well... I think we have no time to talk, now!"
The two Scorpion brothers are fighting Naecken and Nowhereman, while M'xy looks at them helplessly. Lance and Tobias are on the ground.
I shout, "M'XY! COWS!"
The ultradimensional being, at that word, smiles. "Oh, finally something I know!" And suddenly, instead of the two enormous metahumans, stand two large, black-and-white-spotted cows.
Marv Velo looks at me very puzzled. "It's a very old trick of his," I explain, smiling.
The policemen are beginning to gather around us. "A portal, M'xy!" I order. And we disappear, only to reappear a few blocks away.
"Sorry, I'm tired," apologizes M'xy.
"No prob. Look, it's Tobias with a van." Our speedster, just before we left, ran back to the circus to take a means of transportation for us. We get on in a rush, and head for the circus.
Danny's van is empty. No trace of him, no clues. Where is he?
"The bed is still warm," notes Nowhereman.
"Yeah. If only we had a way to see what happened here," I whisper.
Naecken sat in a corner of the van, sipping water, deep in thought. Something felt wrong. A quick memory flash showed him a small island, somewhere.
"I know where he is!" said a voice as the door of the van opened. A tall, black-haired woman entered.
"Who are you?" asked Eurostar.
The woman said, "Call me Sonja. I was near this van two hours ago, and I saw four men capturing your friend."
Eurostar said, "Do you know who those men were?"
Sonja Ljzavet replied, "Yes, I do. Malvan-X security guards."
The other heroes began to talk. Tobias asked, "Do you trust her, Eurostar?"
Eurostar shrugged. "I don't know if I should trust her. But we have no choice. We'll attack Malvan-X!"
"And what about her?" asked Lance Lorenzo, gesturing at the mystery woman.
Eurostar said, "She will come with us!"
Edulcore Cicciotto:
"She will come with us!" I say. What could I do, differently? This mystery woman comes out of nowhere, claiming she knows where Danny is, and I should not trust her? What else can I do?
There are absolutely no clues to the whereabouts of our time-displaced friend. If this woman says he is held prisoner in the Malvan-X complex, I can't do anything else but trust her, and go there. And pray to God to find him there, and that this is not a trap.
"Let's go, guys. And lady. Hey, Naecken, are you all right?"
The dark demonic being raises his head. "Yes, Euro. I am fine," he says, in a low tone.
"M'xy, can you open a portal?"
"No, sorry. I am too tired. I have opened two a few hours ago, and transformed those two into cows. I need rest," says the man from the fifth dimension.
"No time to rest, sorry. But we will go through different means. Into the van, everybody."
We squeeze ourselves into the little van we use for announcing the arrival of the circus in the towns we visits, and leave. I know where Malvan-X is. I had been there before, not many months ago. But it seems a lifetime.
So, it's all of us versus a tower full of guards, to free a prisoner. Deja vu. The same situation we had in Thunder City last week. That time the prisoner was my son. And we did fail to free him. I wonder where he is now.
