by I'm Not Mister Mxypltk, T5 and The Eurostar
The guys were standing on the roof of an old building. On one side of the building, a group of infested people were climbing up the walls, their black eyes filled with anger. On the other side, Tobias waited on the street with a large blue and white van.
Tobias shouted, "Hurry up, guys! More angry villagers are coming here!"
The five men and the mysterious girl got down off the roof as fast as they could and jumped into the van, but it was too late. Dozens of infested people were already surrounding the van, and more were coming.
M'xy said, "What are we gonna do?"
Tobias, in the driver's seat, said, "Okay, guys, hold onto your seats."
Tobias started the van, and it moved incredibly fast, running over the people blocking the way.
Eurostar looked back and saw that the girl was right. These people must have powers, because they were not killed when hit by the van, as one would expect. It's a relief, he thought, to know that we're not killing the infested people. After all, this isn't their fault.
Tobias asked, "How do we get to the Zoo? I was running when we escaped from there. I don't remember the way."
The mysterious girl named Crasher said, "Just follow the hordes of infested people on the street. That's where they're going."
"'Kay." Tobias drove the van to the center of the street flooded with infested people. He ran over them as well, and he seemed to be enjoying it.
The van finally reached the Zoo, a building M'xy and Tobias recognized instantly. The heroes watched the hundreds of infested people coming from all sides. They left the van and began getting ready for a big fight.
Danny said, "What are we gonna do? There are hundreds of them!"
Eurostar said reassuringly, "We can handle them."
Crasher added, "And they are invulnerable, to a point, so you don't have to worry about harming innocent people."
"I know," said Danny, "but when we beat these ones, more will come to take their place. We have to do something about this."
Nowhereman added, "That's right, we have to come up with a plan to keep this place safe and stop whatever is causing this at the same time!"
"Then let's start thinking," said Eurostar. He noticed they were coming closer. "Until then, let's fight!"
The girl called Crasher jumped out of the van and ran down the street. The possessed people tried to stop her, but the weird rifle she held in her right arm made slush-puppies out of them.
"Hey!" Eurostar said, shocked. "She just killed those civilians!"
A black helicopter with no markings suddenly appeared over the street. A rope was thrown down, and Crasher grabbed hold of it. "Bye, boys!" She blowed a kiss to the surprised heroes. And the helicopter sped off.
Naecken opened the back door and stepped out. He climbed onto the van's roof and started chanting.
Nowhereman said, "Now what is that weird guy doing?" He wound down his window and shouted, "Whatever you're doing, it better help. They look a little irritated... and there are more on the way!"
Naecken began to emit a pale blue glow that soon engulfed a one-hundred-foot radius. The possessed within the radius screamed and twitched on the ground as the black force leaked out of their eyes and mouths.
Danny felt the shadow within him starting to twitch, and he panicked. But the force within fed on his powers and created a safe haven in a deep hidden pocket of his mind.
Naecken's force field lasted only thirty seconds, but the effect was clear and instant. As the glow disappeared, people rose in pain and confusion, and they watched the eerie angel standing on the van's roof.
A rumble from underground was heard, and suddenly the street erupted, and a huge dark shadow being, quiet similar to a dragon, but completely without features, arose from the depths.
"This is it!" shouted Naecken. "The adversary! We have to face him, or the world will be consumed in his hunger for souls!"
The giant shadow dragon growled at them, opening his large mouth. Metaheroes, aliens, conspiracies, and now a monster. A world that only weeks ago most of them would have labelled as B-movie fiction was now real and biting at them. They watched the big creature moving and roaring, fascinated as they would be seeing a CGI creature.
Then, the notion that it was real hit Eurostar's mind, and he fell back into his role. "This puppy wants to stop us while his minions enslave the metas inside the Zoo!" he shouted. "Naecken, M'xy -- your powers are the only good ones in a transdimensional fight. Slow the beast down while we go into the Zoo to stop the zombies."
"Your orders are too wordy, Euro," said Danny, smiling.
"I know, I know. I will work on that. Now, quickly! And you, Tobias, don't go there alone. Wait for us!" And while M'xy and Naecken began to whisper strange words at the enormous black dragon, Eurostar shouted at them, "Hold on, we'll be back in minutes..." Only to himself, he said, "...I hope."
