Splinters of plaster and wood still drifted down in a light haze, an effervescent mist of rain leaking through the impromptu skylight, as an opal aura surrounded the large stranger's unconscious form. In a fluid motion, Naecken lifted the weight off of him, his fingers dancing with a subtle grace.
"First, the abductions... now, devils falling from the sky," Patrick Keith Richards III moaned. He turned to his secretary. "Cruella, call the authorities..."
"That will not be necessary," Turkish Stringfellow quickly suggested.
Richards immediately turned back toward his secretary. "That will not be necessary."
The woman sighed, rolling her eyes, and hung up the phone. Richards paused, a perplexed expression on his face, trying to figure out why he had just said that.
"Do you know this guy?" Danny Hearn asked Turkish, interrupting before Richards could question anything.
"No." Turkish peered down at the form, now lying on an adjacent table. "I do not think so."
"But, you can't remember, right?" Danny replied with a sigh.
"Correct." Turkish nodded with an equal sigh.
"It probably sent... him!" Richards interjected. "He's probably an... agent... or something."
"Anagentofwhat?" said Tobias Christopher at superspeed. Richards jerked a bit, getting hit with hypersonics.
Turkish frowned, his eyes beginning to glance toward the window.
"An... agent... of... what...?" Tobias replied, closing his eyes in irritation.
"El Diablo!" Richards exclaimed, his eyes wide.
"Strange..." Naecken said, frowning. "Usually, that is what people call me."
"Thinkin' about suing fer rights, hey?" Pete Glover asked with a smile.
"EL DIABLO!" Richards exclaimed a bit louder.
"Yes. We heard--" Danny began.
"Gentlemen..." Turkish interrupted, still staring out the window.
It was only a second to realize that Richards eyes were locked on the same spot as Turkish.
A low rumble suddenly rocked the earth beneath them, and enormous gray tentacles arched up through exploding soil outside.
"Holyshitwhatisthat?" drifted by Danny's hearing as Tobias disappeared in a burst of air.
"TOBIAS!" Danny barked, turning far too late to stop the impulsive man. His eyes quickly turned back toward the window, Tobias randomly visible in short, distorted bursts, striking the tentacles with bare fists flying at somewhere near the speed of sound.
"EL DIABLO!" Richards yelled again, he and Cruella running toward the back room.
"Fuck." Danny sighed. "We need to--"
"ATTACK!" Naecken shouted, his body flaring with raw power as the tin walls around them began ripping away from new tentacles appearing.
"I was going to say, 'Stop Tobias until we know what's going on'..." Danny sighed, as everyone broke into action. "But, whatever..."
Pete had grabbed the large, unconscious stranger with the skull for a face, throwing his arm over his shoulder with a massive effort, trying to get him clear the turmoil. Naecken, floating high up into the air, as the building ceased to be any structure whatsoever, had turned one hand downward, throwing a force-bubble that encased and protected Richards and his secretary. The other stretched forth, incantations roaring forth.
"Rhino-hide," Danny spoke, and his body rippled with thick, grayish armor. "Eagle bones." His skeletal structure hollowed out, decreasing his weight exponentially. "Tiger claws." Diamond-sharp claws breached his fingertips, as Hal reacted to the multiple commands.
Danny paused, glancing to his right, noticing as Turkish seemed to be staring at the ground. "What are you waiting for? Attack this thing!" he barked.
Turkish held up his hand toward Danny, still staring down at the earth. "As I shall," he mumbled. "It is wise, though, to find the weakness of any structure before aggressive measures should be taken."
And with that, he turned his fingers toward the ground, flipping his hand upward with a sharp, quick motion. Mimicking his actions precisely, a hole, around seven feet in diameter, ripped open, and a few hundred pounds of earth were carelessly flung into the air.
Taking one step forward, Turkish stepped off into the darkness below.
"Jaysis," Danny sighed. "There is no order to this group, whatsoever."
And with that, Danny launched himself into the fray.
