Elsewhere, Ma Kalunga was sweating heavily; controlling the effigy copies wasn't easy. But a soothing chill overwhelmed her as the trantranceulantuan goddess of the pugilistic ways entered her mind to give her strength and guidance.
"Here, daughter of love, daughter of pain, daughter of smiles... have a cookie... a piece of our life source to feed on... it will grant you ease and power... power beyond your little mammalian dreams."
The spidery legs of Zveidi tickled her imagination until she came up with a great idea, a composite nemesis, a nemesis with all the members' abilities in one.
The birthing screams of the new being echoed in the ether, sending annoying signals that interrupted every sensitive being on the globe. A bad dream, many thought.
The composite being awoke with a pain and anger that could only be stayed with the Revolutionaries' blood flowing down its throat.
Suddenly, the dancing evil doubles disappeared. "Hey!" M'xy protested.
Floors above, Perverse Pete did the same thing. "More beer fer me!" the drunken Pete Glover said.
Back in the lower floors, everyone wondered where the hell the doubles went.
Before anyone could ask anything, the new composite being created by Ma Kalunga appeared before the group. It was thirteen feet tall, dark as the night, with four ram horns on the head, sprouting fangs from its mouth, and eight arms on the side of its torso.
The being smiled, and a chilling wind blew impossibly through the apartment complex.
"Holy shit! That motherfucker's gotta be at least fifteen feet tall!" shouted Lance Lorenzo.
"Hey, Lance, you speak to your mother with that mouth?" said Sam Dawson.
"Shut up and attack this thing!" shouted Tobias Christopher.
"T.C., WAIT!" everyone shouted as the often-impetuous Tobias hit the creature a thousand times in one second before being swatted away like a fly.
"Holy crap," said Sam. "We've got to get this thing out of our apartment building somehow, or this place is toast."
The wound. Naecken's mind kept reminding him of the implications of the event that hurt him. The itching feeling wouldn't go away and made him feel irritation and anger. The heavenly blade must have infected him with its pureness. What did that say about him?
"...more your league!"
Naecken realized Sam had been trying to talk to him.
"I'm sorry, Sam, what?"
"Wake up and be normal for once. This weird act is getting tiresome. We have a bug in inside our house, and I think you or Stringfellow are just the ones to handle him... or maybe M'xy... Well? Get on with it!"
Naecken stared at the ugly composite being. The face showed mixed emotions, like a war of psycho-identical beings was being fought inside it. It made a sound. Was it trying to communicate? The sound of a hundred dogs in heat, howling to the moon. The racket distracted everyone, and so he used his superspeed to attack Naecken with a thousand blows, and at the same time phasing a arm inside him to grab his heart.
Naecken screamed. The loss of the arm had been dreadful, but this was too much for the dimensionally displaced being. His mind shut down, and he fell to the floor.
"NAE!" M'xy yelled as he ran to grab the falling Naecken.
"He's unconscious," Turkish Stringfellow said as he and Lance helped M'xy lay Naecken's heavy body on the ground.
M'xy raised his head and looked at the beast with anger, or the closest thing to anger he could feel.
"You..." M'xy said as the yellow light coming from his eyes started turning red.
"M'xy, we gotta be careful. Don't--" Lance said, but before he could say another word, M'xy threw himself at the beast, almost like a rocket, making them both crush against a wall, leaving a hole in it and falling to the yard outside the building.
"Like a freakin' bazooka!" Dirk Bell said as the whole team approached the hole in the wall.
"Why is it that nobody ever listens to me?" Lance asked.
"Well, at least we got it outside the building," Sam said. "We should go down there and help M'xy."
In the yard, M'xy and the beast grabbed each other and started struggling. Just as Turkish took Sam's suggestion and jumped outside the building -- expecting to land softly, with a little collaboration from the ground -- the beast took M'xy with one arm and threw him up into the sky with so much speed that only Tobias was able to see him.
On the way up, M'xy collided with Turkish, taking Stringfellow with him to the clouds.
The team was speechless.
"Shit, that thing's looking at us now," Danny Hearn said, when he noticed that the beast was looking up.
"No, he's looking at something else," said Grimm.
"What else could he be looking at?" Danny asked.
"He's waiting for Turkish and M'xy to fall," Grimm answered.
Just then, something like a meteor fell from above the clouds, landing into a mountain.
"Holy shit... that was them," Danny said, taking his hand to the back of his head.
"I saw a light before they landed," Tobias said. "M'xy was able to create a force field. They're okay. I mean, as okay as you can be after that."
"Not for long!" Dirk said, pointing at the beast downstairs, which was flexing its legs.
The beast took a big leap and landed on the same volcanic mountain M'xy and Turkish had landed upon.
"It's gonna kill them!" Sam yelled. "We have to go there!"
"Let's grab Pete first," Lance said. "We're gonna need some luck."
