The Math Department recently hosted its first annual Math Art Competition open to all grade levels at the high school. Students were invited to create original pieces of artwork and include a short description of how it relates to math. All RHS math teachers participated in the judging of the submissions. Winners received a gift card from Rey Sol Coffee in Ridgewood, and their artwork will be permanently displayed in Room 297. Congratulations!

Over the past three days, 100 RHS DECA students competed in the NJ DECA state conference. Students presented their 10 or 20 page papers, solved role play scenarios (without the use of technology), and acted as sales consultants. In addition, they participated in Downtown DECA challenges and networked with other chapters. The DECA advisors are incredibly proud of all of the students who attended DECA states and they represented RHS well.
We had 50 students make finals and 33 students qualified for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in their competitive event. Additionally, as a chapter, we earned 11 leadership academy slots for four chapter based projects. In total, 44 students will be attending ICDC in Atlanta, Georgia (April 22nd -April 27th).
On Wednesday, March 2nd, the National Honor Society, with the help of faculty advisor Ms. Chamesian, hosted a Read Across America event at Ridgewood High School. This school wide, interdisciplinary initiative brought students and teachers together in the Campus Center to spend time reading. Participants had the option of bringing their own books or browsing a selection of books organized by our Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Moss-Keller, and English teacher, Mrs. John. We thank them for their involvement in making this event a success! We also thank our school administrators for their support! It was so incredible to celebrate reading with our students and staff. We look forward to making this an annual event at RHS!
