A week in the Trosa archipelago

The Trosa archipelago is another exceptional place to explore, usually quieter than the Sockholm archipelago. It is certainly much smaller in size and number of islands, but it offers it all in a week, from the historical Trosa and Oxelösund cities, through the protected coves of Aspöflädden or Rinsön, as well as the open sea ride to Hävringe. Worth a full week, if not even more.

This itinerary is circular. Therefore, the starting point as no particular importance. Coming from the south, you will start in Oxelösund while coming frmo the north you should start with Landort or Ankarudden.

This one week itinerary from Södertälje to Trosa.

  • Day 1: Södertälje to Trosa, through the Himmel fjärd. Interesting ride through the Swedish fjords with the horizon gradually broadening.
  • Day 2: Trosa to Öja, a short ride, but between two of the major coups de coeur in Sweden. Said otherwise, do not hesitate to take one extra day in Trosa and one in Öja as both places have so much to offer.
  • Day 3: Öja to Hävringe is an outer sea ride between two of the most famous lighthouses spread around the Baltic coast.
  • Day 4: The ride between Hävringe and Oxelösund is rather short. But Oxelösund and its Femore fortet has a lot to offer, so time will not be waisted.
  • Day 5: From Oxelösund to Asflöden, you will experience a sense of the inner acrchipelago, characterised by the labyrinth of the paths between and around the islands.
  • Day 6: Continuation of the xploration of the inner archipelago. Don't miss the hike south of Ringsöm.
  • Day 7: Back to Trosa!
