Sommarøy is a fishing village 36 km west of Tromsø. Sommarøy is a touristic place because of its white sand beaches and good fishing spots.

There is a little grocery store and a rental place for kayaks and Hobie cats. Nices walks around. Possible to moor on the north side of the bridge, but beware of the big hoses underwater: you can see them underwater.

Getting there

By commercial transport

Sommarøy is one hour drive from Tromsø.

Bus 420 from Tromsø reaches Sommarøy in 1.5 hours.

By own boat

The municipal pontoon, located just at the east side of the bridge is available free of charge, but with no service.

Alternatively, catways are available on the west side of the harbour with electricity. you must call the fishermen white house ++
