Christiansø

Nickname of Christiansø: The Pearl of the Baltic.Absolutely unforgettable!

Christiansø is a very nice stop over between Sweden Germany and Bornholm, Denmark. It is located 56 nautical miles from Karlskrona, 45 from Utklippan, 31 from Simrishamn, and barely 10 miles from Bornholm.

The South harbour is well protected from most winds but can be quite crowded in the summer. Mooring is done alongside the pier and alongside other boats when full. There are a few berths available on the south west of the harbour, along the pier on Frederiksø.

The North Harbour is reserved to locals and the ferries.

There is a restaurant, a small grocery store and a kiosk.

Interesting Museum on Frederiksø

Christiansø is part of the Ertholmene archipelago. The archipelago is owned by the Ministry of Defense of Denmark. It is located about 20 km northeast of Bornholm and consists of two inhabited islands Christiansø and Frederiksø bird sanctuary Græsholm and a number of large and small rocks. About 80 people are living on the island today.

The small tower was built in 1687 to protect the passage between Frederiksø and Græsholmen. Today it houses the island's museum tower with Regional and local history collections, fortress history and on the upper deck a model of the fortress, as it appeared in 1855.

Theses places ( left side when entering ) are reserved for low drafts! But enough for a lifting keel, and well protected from the swell.
