Trollhättan

The Trollhättan canal is the canal between the Vänern Lake and Göteborg in te Kattegat. The canal is 82 km long, with 44 metres in water level difference. There are 6 huge locks along the canal, 90 m long by 13 m wide. The city of Trollhättan has 45,000 inhabitants. Trollhättan was the latest place accessible for boats coming upstream from Göteborg. There was a big waterfall in Trollhättan which gave its name to "Vattenfall", the Swedish energy corporation.
