Sandhamn

Sandhamn is an island on a sand ridge at 30 miles east of Stockholm. It is strategically located at the main entry point to the fvairway to Stockholm on the east and the fairway around Sweden. It hosts the Royal Swedish Yatch Club and a historical pilot station.

The Round Gotland Race, the most prestigious sailing race in the Baltic sea starts and finishes in Sandhamn every year in the first week of July, attracting a large crowd.

Sandhamn is one of the largest natural harbours in the archipelago. The guest marina can accomodate 400 boats on two sites: Sandhamn and Lökholmen. On Sandhamn, a marina dinghy will assist for indicating where to moor. On Löckholmen, the first marina on the left, Trollsundet is reserved for KSSS members. Further north, through the shallow Kroksö kanal (1.9 metre deep), is Kroksöfladen where mooring is possible with stern anchor, bow to the pontoon.
