Nåttarö
Nåttarö is an island in the southern part of the Stockholm archipelago.
On the north of the island is a bay called Östermarsfladen (58°53.451'N 18°8.388'E), protected from all winds but the strong northerly winds. There is a woden dock on the south-west corner where one can moor, and additional possibilities on the rocks on the south west side of the cove.
Alternatively anchoring in the bay is good but can be crowded at the peak of the season.
This is the jetty on the east side of te island, where the ferry from Nynäshamn is landing all year long. On the right end of the jetty are buoys where one can moore overnight, bow to the jetty.
Cottages can be rented for weekend or for a week. It is the typical Swedish cottage with shared toilets and showers. There is no car on the island, but bikes can be rented. More on renting cottages in Nåttarö here.
There are very nice walks on the island, in particular to the white sand beach on the east side of the island.
In late summer and autmun, blueberry picking is very successful.
In July 1640, queen Maria Eleonaora escaped from Sweden and took refuge on Nåttarö, coming from trosa, hiding in a cave before embarking on a Dutch boat.
The cave is located on the path to the large sandy beach on the west of the island.
