INSTALL BITDEFENDER ANTIVIRUS

📌If Bitdefender installation is through JumpCloud Server

1. Bitdefender will be automatically installed to your laptop through your company Jumpcloud Server. This will require user intervention to successfull install the Bitdefender to your machine.

2. A prompt notification will appear at the upper right of your screen that the Bitdefender is now currently installing or a pop up window will appear to your screen and showing the download and installation progress.

3. Click the notification or wait for a few minutes and a System Extension Block notification will pop up to your screen. Press OK to close this window.

4. At the upper right of your screen, find and click Bitdefender Icon and press "Issue".

5.  At the Overview window, follow the instructions to allow Bitdefender system extensions and update your security settings. For Security Content, Click "Update now" to update the Bitdefender EDR security settings.

6. Allowing Full Disk Access permission:
In the Overview window, click "Open Privacy". This will redirect you to the System Settings. Toggle on BDLDaemon to grant Full Disk Access for Bitdefender GravityZone.

7. Allowing the Network Extension for Bitdefender GravityZone:
In the Overview window, click Install Now. This will redirect you to the Login Items and Extension tab in your system settings. Under Extensions -> Network Extensions, toggle on "SecurityNetworkInstallerApp" to enable the device to download the Bitdefender GravityZone network extension.

8. Once completed, a prompt window will appear as shown below. Click "Allow" to finish the network extension installation.

9. Installing SSL Certificate for Bitdefender GravityZone:
In the Overview window, if the message “Install the SSL certificate to enable SSL protection” appears, click "Install Now". A security prompt will appear requesting administrator credentials, enter your device credentials to allow the installation and apply changes to the System Certificate Trust Settings. 

10. Once the update is done, the Bitdefender window status should be "Safe"; thus, the installation and setup are done.

📌If Bitdefender installation is not applicable through JumpCloud Server. Here are the guidelines for manual installation.

5. Double click SetupDownloader file and a prompt window will appear. Click "Open".

6. A security prompt window will appear. Login your credentials and installation process will begin.

7. Click the notification or wait for a few minutes and a System Extension Block notification will pop up to your screen. Press "OK" to close this window.

8. At the upper right of your screen, find and click Bitdefender Icon and press Issue

9. At the Overview window, follow the instructions to allow Bitdefender system extensions and update your security settings. For Security Content, Click "Update now" to update the Bitdefender EDR security settings.

10. Allowing Full Disk Access permission:
In the Overview window, click "Open Privacy". This will redirect you to the System Settings. Toggle on BDLDaemon to grant Full Disk Access for Bitdefender GravityZone.

11. Allowing the Network Extension for Bitdefender GravityZone:
In the Overview window, click Install Now. This will redirect you to the Login Items and Extension tab in your system settings. Under Extensions -> Network Extensions, toggle on "SecurityNetworkInstallerApp" to enable the device to download the Bitdefender GravityZone network extension.

12. Once completed, a prompt window will appear as shown below. Click "Allow" to finish the network extension installation.

14. Once the update is done, the Bitdefender window status should be "Safe"; thus, the installation and setup are done.

🚀 How to Validate Bitdefender Antivirus Installation

1. Look for the Bitdefender icon at the top right of your screen. If the icon shows the checklist means all the setup is completed successfully.
